Calls for Action

Our Revolution

Janet -

During the presidential campaign, Bernie spoke a lot about the need to revitalize American politics and create a political revolution. He talked about the need to bring people together - black, white, Latino, Asian American and Native American - to fight for a government which represents all of us, and not just the 1 percent.

Bernie also made it clear that the Democratic Party needed a 50-state strategy, and that we could not rest easy when some of the poorest states in the country were led by Republican right wing extremists who represented the wealthy and the powerful.

That is why Bernie is hitting the road again, this time with DNC Chair Tom Perez, Keith Ellison and other leaders. The purpose of this nine-state tour across the country is to visit some of our more conservative states and help build strong, grassroots movements in those regions. He will also discuss how the president has turned his back on the working class people who voted for him.

One of the states that Bernie will be visiting is Arizona.

Signup and RSVP to tell us that you’ll attend the event in person. Please get the word out to your friends. Let's have a HUGE turnout.

Dear MoveOn member,

Despite the Trump team's being under an active criminal investigation, Mitch McConnell wants to ram Trump's lifetime Supreme Court appointment—extremist nominee Neil Gorsuch—through confirmation this week. And he may break the Senate in the process.1

It's up to us to make sure that McConnell doesn't have the votes to break the Democratic filibuster or use the "nuclear option" to turn the Senate into his personal rubber stamp—and that we stop an administration under an active criminal investigation from confirming a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.

If you're ready to fight, can you join the Ready to Resist call this Sunday, April 2 at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT)?

Click here to RSVP for the call—with guest speakers Heather McGhee of Demos and Senator Chuck Schumer!

Join the Ready to Resist call!

Sunday's call will feature an all-star list of guests and trainers:

  • Heather McGhee, President of Demos, will fire us up with a vision of democracy and economic justice ahead of the vote on Trump's Supreme Court pick and the upcoming Tax Day protests.

  • Senator Chuck Schumer, the top Senate Democrat, who is leading the charge to uphold a filibuster to keep Gorsuch from being confirmed to the Supreme Court, will describe how people everywhere can make a difference this week.

  • Luz Sosa, Latino Outreach Organizer with Citizen Action of Wisconsin, and Anthony Newby, Executive Director of Minneapolis's Neighborhoods Organizing for Change, will provide expert training on how to make the most of April's Resistance Recess, when Congress is back home to hear from us.

  • I'll be moderating this Sunday's call.

Last Friday, when Paul Ryan canceled the vote on Trumpcare, was a massive defeat for Donald Trump and his radical agenda. It did more than keep 24 million Americans from being robbed of their health care—it gave us a glimpse of just how powerful our Resistance movement is and demonstrated what we're capable of.

We can propel our health care victory into another this week: protecting our democracy and our communities from Trump's extremist Supreme Court nominee.

As we heard on the last Ready to Resist call, defeating Gorsuch and keeping Trump's legacy from impacting the Court for a generation is a must.2 We'll hear on this call what we can do to help Senate Democrats stand strong and to pressure key Republicans.

Click here to RSVP for the call and we'll dial you in this Sunday at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT).

And be sure to invite your friends. Click here to share info about the call on Facebook. And click here to share info about the call on Twitter.

You can also listen in live via web stream at that same link. So get a few friends together and join in with tens of thousands of people from around the country.

Talk with you Sunday!

Thanks for all you do.

Dear Friend,

I'd like to invite you to join me and thousands of Arizonans for a call on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 6:10 p.m. PT to discuss the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to fill the late Justice Antonin Scalia's seat on the United States Supreme Court.

As you may know, next week I will join my colleagues on the Senate Judiciary Committee in holding a series of hearings to advance Judge Gorsuch's nomination. As we enter this critical phase in the effort to put Judge Gorsuch on the Supreme Court, I want to hear your thoughts and questions. If you would like to participate on the call, I'll need a good phone number at which to reach you. You can submit an updated phone number to my office by clickinghere.

For more information on my efforts to put Judge Gorsuch on the Supreme Court, please clickhere.

Hello all~ We are all taken aback by the very UN-American and unconstitutional SB1142, which asserts to hold the organizers of protests responsible if damage or violence occurs. The republican spin sets to affirm that we are professional protesters rather than concerned citizens. So obviously, good behavior while assembling is a no brainier. Smile and nod, I always say.

You didn’t hear it from me but, we should all be calling and writing Gov. Ducey!  Find his contact info below.  You will also find a number of ACLU videos. I feel, since we are genuinely not paid protesters, this legislation would be very difficult (and costly to the state) to prosecute. The government is always trying to trick you out of your rights. To this point, I would encourage you to view some ACLU videos. The most important right you have is the right to remain silent, under any circumstances. Please find some links below…as well as a great song from Bob Dylan.
